CMAI is organizing a “Smart City India World Conference” slated to be held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on 3rd/4th Week of December, 2014

 

 

 

GTU Smart City Certificate E-Courses

 
1. Smart Cities Planning and Development (SCPD)
2. Project Management in Smart Cities (PMSC)
3. Application of Solar Energy for Smart Cities (ASESC)
4. Green Buildings in Smart Cities (GBSC)
 
These e-courses are online distance learning courses. The participants can study being at their choice of place i.e. home, office etc. The participants will need to spare 8-10 hours per week for each e-course. The course duration is 18 weeks. Each course consist of 8/9 modules and each modules contains lectures in form of PDFs. Reference reading material and reference videos will also be provided in some of the mod­ules for extra learnings.

The population across globe is increasing and more and more people are migrating to cities. The industrial revolution hundreds year before and lack of importance on agriculture and rural economy worldwide is responsible for this migration. The UN study conducted in 2011 estimated that 70% of population will live in cities by 2050.
The 21st Century is facing major challenges for humanity and cities. There is need for more cities. Due to population growth the resources are under constant threats and always falling short of needs and demands. This has resulted into need for smart cities, where resources can be effectively shared and good governance achieved for smooth citizen empowerments. Cities have challenges role to address various issues such as ICT, Urban planning, climate change, environmental matters, non-renewable resources, social and economic development, increasing populations, city infrastructures, Governance & Funding etc. Greater emphasis on cities needs cities to think independently for economic growth and sustainability of various infrastructures.
