The mobile phones sold in India, whether manufactured or imported, are required to meet have a panic button for safety of women and other citizens.. The policy in this behalf is issued by DOT, GOI.

No Panic button testing is done in India. The mobile phones are cleared for Imports on the basis of self certification basis.
